Meanwhile, other youth have felt so outcasted that they take it out on their peers with school shootings, bullying, and petty crimes. Still, an overwhelming amount of teens are using drugs and alcohol, as it seems to offer them a temporary relief from the blasé life they feel they are leading. Their idle hands lead them to a dangerous place, when they are not guided by someone who will take the time and help them, teach them, build them up, and prepare them for their future. Of course, there are organizations that are reaching out to address these problems, but our organization, Lead by Faith, is offering an alternative that is sure to appeal to this diverse generation of young people. What makes us different? Read on...
Lets start with the cell phone. How many years has it been around? They have been available to the public since the 1980's, so lets say about 25 years. I'm sure most people remember how massive, boxy, and bulky they were when they first came out compared to the pocket-sized cells we have now! Not only have they gotten much smaller, but their capabilities have increased astronomically. From talking, texting, surfing the web, and emailing, it is virtually a hand-held computer. This brings us to another point: the computer. This is another piece of technology that has massively evolved since its conception, as well as television, gaming consoles, and movies. What do all of these different pieces of technology have in common? Media. Teens today are heavily reliant on their cell phones, computers, internet, and television. Media is progressively growing everyday, and it has left its imprint on most everyone's lives in one way or another. That is where we come in. Lead by Faith Media Ministries currently produces two television programs which also air via internet. What we do is take in youth from all backgrounds and train them in all aspects of media. On our television shows, they actively help with the cameras, lighting, sound, set design, and co-producing. This gives them hands-on experience and allows them to acquire skills to then pursue a job in media. The young people involved in our ministry are also given a place where there is love and acceptance, and where they can be apart of something that touches thousands of lives. Obviously, we are a ministry, so we also impart the love of God in their lives and encourage them to lead lives that are positive and productive.

All this to say, we need your help to continue this beneficial program going. We have been blessed to be able to reach the youth that we have so far, but we are not stopping there. Our desire is to see thousands of lives transformed by being able to belong to something worthwhile, and also gain life skills in the process. We desire to be able to reach even more youth, grow our program to a larger scale, and even eventually be able to hire some of the teens who come into this program.
